MALLETECH es una de las marcas de percusión más conocidas en todo el mundo. Fue fundada en Nueva York por Leigh Howard Stevens en el año 1982, después de dejar de desarrollar sus innovadoras mazas con Vic Firth. Se unieron a él para esta tarea Bob Becker, David Friedman y Dave Samuels, algunos de los intérpretes de instrumentos de láminas más famosos.
Malletech presume de ser la única empresa fabricante de instrumentos de láminas regentada por un concertista en activo, Stevens. Además, cuenta con más artistas que diseñan, mejoran y controlan la calidad de los productos de la marca.
